Victims of Criminal Offenses in the Field of Professional Legal Aid

Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of forensic characteristics of victims of criminal offenses committed in the field of professional legal aid. The author substantiates the relevance of the topic in the context of increasing cases of unlawful interference with the activities of lawyers, representatives and other participants in the human rights sphere. The author establishes that victims in such proceedings have a special legal status which is determined by their professional function, procedural powers and the importance of their activities for the proper functioning of justice. The author analyzes the legal grounds for recognizing a person as a victim and points out the key role of the causal relationship between the encroachment and professional activity. The author reveals the socio-professional and behavioral traits of victims and shows their importance for establishing the motives of the crime, forming the evidence base and choosing interrogation tactics. The author comes to the conclusion that it is necessary to take into account the increased professional vulnerability of victims, in particular, lawyers, and to develop methodological recommendations to improve the efficiency of investigating offenses in the legal sphere.
