System Guide

OJS is a professional working environment

Let's get straight to business: Open Journal Systems (OJS) is not just a website, but a professional work environment. At first glance, the system may seem complicated, but it's like with professional equipment in a laboratory or workshop: you have to get used to it to get a high-quality result.

This section was created so that you do not spend time "fighting" the interface. Below you will find separate instructions for each role (authors, reviewers and editors), but first — about the main thing.

Why we work here and not through email?

We completely abandoned "manual" correspondence not because of a love of bureaucracy. Email is a tool for communication, and OJS is a tool for scientific registration. Here is why it is important:

Global Registration

When you fill in the data in OJS, you manually create a digital passport for the article. This data is automatically picked up by Google Scholar, Scopus, and Web of Science. What is sent simply in a letter remains invisible to the algorithms of world science.

DOI and Permanent Link

Only through the platform does the article receive an active DOI identifier. This guarantees that even after 20 years, the link to your work will not "break", and the article itself will be officially registered in the international Crossref registry.

No more version chaos

We all know these chains of letters: "final", "final_correct", "final_exact". In OJS, each file version has its own number and clear place. The risk of the wrong manuscript version going to print is zero.

Touchy Statistics

Only on the platform can you see real numbers: how many times your article was viewed and downloaded by colleagues from all over the world. Email does not provide such analytics.

Legal and Ethical Security

The system records the exact time of each action. This is your protection in copyright matters and proof that the article underwent real peer review.

Error-free Confidentiality

Conducting true "double-blind" peer review via email without confusing anything is nearly impossible. OJS automatically hides author names from reviewers.

Reminders that work

The system itself will remind the reviewer of the deadline, and you of the need to make edits. You don't need to check your mail every hour.

What to do next?

Just select the tab below that corresponds to your role. We have briefly outlined step-by-step actions there.

If something goes wrong

We know technology can be tricky. If the system gives an error or you can't find the right button, don't worry, just write to technical support.
