The article examines the criminalistic characteristics of intentional homicides combined with rape or sexual violence under the legal regime of martial law. It is substantiated that martial law significantly affects the elements of criminalistic characteristics, resulting in the transformation of their regular interrelations. Particular attention is paid to the increased latency of this type of criminal offense, which is caused, inter alia, by restricted access to temporarily occupied and uncontrolled territories. A detailed analysis is conducted of the offender’s profile in cases of homicidal rape, who possesses a number of specific characteristics distinguishing such offenders from perpetrators of conventional criminal offenses. The article substantiates the expediency of a comprehensive examination of the crime scene, circumstances, and conditions surrounding the commission of the offense as important elements for developing an effective investigation methodology. Emphasis is placed on the necessity of further scientific research into criminalistic characteristics aimed at deepening the understanding of the gravity of this crime and enhancing the effectiveness of countermeasures against it.
